King Kilowatt
July
19, 2003 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina (!)
A
Mitch Easter-inspired love fest celebrating the release of the Let's Active
tribute album Every Word on
Laughing Outlaw Records. Check
out the MP3 of King Kilowatt's contribution, a cover of Easter's "Mr.
Fool."
Also check out the Billboard review
that singled out our track as one of the "highlights." Finally, see
the set list and some pictures from show shot
with my crappy disposable camera.

King
Kilowatt triumphed again. Notable contenders included The Throwing Stars
and Apehouse.

The Rolling
Stones vs. The Who Saturday March 29, 2003 at the Velvet Lounge
Members
of King Kilowatt joined Greg (formerly of The Patsies) and Craig (of The Worseners)
in desecrating a bunch of Rolling Stones classics for the latest in the ongoing
series of local benefit shows. About six other local bands did similar damage
to The Who and The Stones in an evening that raised $1,100 for local women's
shelter Hannah House. Click
on the poster below to see some pictures and a short video clip from
the show. Viva la Rock, baby!

by Voices November 9, 2002 at the Velvet Lounge
King
Kilowatt (along with about eight other bands) played a handful of Guided by
Voices tunes at this GBV tribute show and Snap Pop! magazine benefit
all rolled into one!
